Philip Lu

Physiotherapist

Phil is a graduate of the Master of Physical Therapy program at the University of British Columbia. His journey with rehabilitation started more than 5 years ago when he guided patients undergoing cancer treatment to engage in exercise therapy. Phil’s professional training and career have allowed him to work with a diverse patient population, including teenage athletes, desk workers, weekend warriors, senior citizens, and many more.

Phil employs a holistic and patient-centred approach to care. His treatment philosophy revolves around three major pillars: educate pain, elevate function, and empower lives. Phil tailors treatment to his clients’ needs using a variety of education, manual therapy, and exercises to help them achieve their goals and mitigate future injury.

Phil has broad interests in orthopedic conditions. He intends to continue his manual manipulative therapy training with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Phil is particularly fascinated by regions of the neck, jaw, and face. He completed his temporomandibular fellowship with Maria Zerjav and continues to take coursework toward becoming a Certified Cervical and Temporomandibular Therapist (CCTT).

When Phil is not in the clinic, he could often be found enjoying the outdoor playground that the beautiful British Columbia has to offer. He had participated in the BMO Vancouver Half Marathon and hopes to compete in his first full marathon before 2028!
