Jessie Chui

Kinesiologist

Jessie graduated from Simon Fraser University under the Active Health and Rehabilitation Concentration in Kinesiology. Her senior studies centered around workplace health and safety and return-to-work prescription, leading her to achieve a Certificate in Occupational Ergonomics. The focus of her studies also included musculoskeletal injury and rehabilitating movement control. She is certified under the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists (BCAK) as a practicing Kinesiologist as of 2023.

Jessie is an avid advocate for trying new things regardless of age, gender, or experience. It is from learning new sports, skills, and techniques as adult that she recognizes how much one must understand themself to have a positive time trying something new. Because of this, she is a firm believer of teaching physical literacy to all age groups so everyone can enjoy their form of physical activity fit to their individual way of learning.

In her free time, Jessie fills her schedule with recreational sports. She is part of a volleyball and ultimate frisbee league. She is also training to perform her first figure skating program in competition. If it’s not on land, you can probably catch her at Jericho Beach where she is a Level 1 Basic Skills Kayaking Instructor and guide to all ages.

Jessie has experience working with adults and youth athletes in injury prevention and active rehabilitation programs. She has also worked with children aged 3 months to 17. She places a strong emphasis on building up from a firm foundation of functional movements as a prevention and treatment to injury. From this, she hopes to inspire others to find a love for physical activity that will lead to their healthier lifestyle.

Jessie can speak English and conversational Cantonese. She is offering both telehealth and in-clinic visits.
